I’m Soraya and I’m 35 👋
I was just a typical Mum of two - just getting by, one day at a time, juggling work, family and home.
I’d gained loads of weight (take-aways and fast food were way too regular, a quick and easy option as I always seemed short of time).
It also didn’t help that , working as a chef, I was constantly surrounded by food.
My confidence was at rock bottom and I just felt miserable.
It was a vicious cycle to be honest, the more I ate, the more weight I put on. The more weight I put on, the more miserable I felt and…. you got it,
the more I ate!
Why do we do that to ourselves?
In September 2019, with our relationship in tatters, my partner and I decided to go our separate ways.
It wasn’t easy being a single Mum juggling kids, home and work but I was determined to make it work.
The extra weight I was carrying meant I was constantly tired and was having back problems and gastric issues too.
I’d had a bit of success on “diets” before, Slimming Clubs, Cabbage Soup Diet, counting calories, cutting carbs, but I just couldn’t stick with the restriction long term.
I kept trying, however, getting back on the merry-go-round, hopeful that this time it might be different.
It never was! I’d drop a few pounds only to gain again.
The trouble is - I love food!
By October 2020, I was back up to 11st 13lbs. Arrrggghhh!!!
